Report by 30% Club Poland: Diversity on the Boards of WIG20 and mWIG40 Companies at the End of 2023

We are proud to announce that M+G has supported the valuable initiative of the survey and report “Diversity on the Boards of WIG20 and mWIG40 Companies at the End of 2023,” carried out by the 30% Club Poland and the Polish Association of Listed Companies.

The study reveals:

  • Women make up about one-fifth (20.2%) of the directors in WIG20 (blue-chip) and mWIG40 (mid-cap) companies combined, but more often serve on the supervisory board than on the management board.
  • The average age of directors in the 60 biggest companies on the Warsaw Stock Exchange is 52. The average age of management board members is 49.8 and on supervisory boards 53.6.
  • At the end of 2023, 76.6% of directors of the 60 biggest WSE-listed companies held a master’s degree and 14.3% a doctorate or higher. Across the WIG20 and mWIG40 combined, 34.3% of directors were economics or finance graduates.
